On or about the date of June 28th 2003, Steve posted that he'd had some personal and health problems that had been preventing him from filling his outstanding orders for lenses.

It was around this time that I'd removed the links to his site based on complaints from customers that their orders had not been filled. Steve assured me in a private email (and publicly on the BBS) that he was going to fill the outstanding orders soon, and asked me to re-instate the links, which I did.

Normally, this wouldn't even be a problem because most of the folks doing business on this BBS don't accept payment until they're ready to fill the order. Brian hasn't made buttons in a long time, for example, but he doesn't charge for the buttons until he's ready to ship them. And his site clearly says so, so the link is still up. Plus, his site has valuable information and photos on how to do the lit button hack.

But if I understand correctly, there are persons on this BBS who sent Steve an actual payment a long time ago and have still not received their orders. (If this is incorrect, please correct me.)

What I'd like to know is, since the date of June 28th 2003, has anyone received their orders? If not, I'll remove the links again until he is able to fill the outstanding paid orders.

Mine has not been filled.

Me too, one order for a couple of lenses.

I've gotten several replies (some of them here, some private) that say they've got outstanding paid orders that have not been filled. So far, no one has said they got an order filled in recent months.

So I'm taking the links out of the FAQ and the top of this page. Although the pictures of the lenses still exist in the lens comparison chart.

Please understand that I'm not doing this as a way of trivializing the problems Steve is having. At a personal level, I am concerned for Steve and hope things come out better for him soon. I just want to make sure no one else follows the links and sends him payments until he's ready to start manufacturing again.
