i was considering the Iiyama HM204DT but i really cant justify spending that much money on a monitor. Any suggestiones on good, cheaper monitors?
I'm primarily a gamer so I'm looking for good refresh rates at high resolutions ( >= 1024x768 )

Well, I didn't find that exact model #, but this is the 203 (instead of the 204).

IMO, $585 is not too expensive for a 22" monitor.

I mean heck, this is the one I've been salivating over for as long as I can remember.

A friend of mine, a UT2K3 player, got a IIyama 22" monitor. After sending 5 back due to version display problems, he bought a mitsubishi (sp?)

At work I had an Iiyama VM Pro 452 (19"). Beautiful picture and a nice looking piece of equipment, EXCEPT that the corners went purple intermittently (maybe once a day for a few seconds each time).

I read about a few other people having problems and got it swapped out for another one. Within a couple of hours this one went purple too and on calling them I was told the other one wouldn't be returned and the one swapped out was mine to keep. I told them I wouldn't accept another 451 as a replacement, and after going away for a minute they offered a 454 which I accepted. Got that one and a couple of weeks later it went BANG during shutdown (when the computer changes mode). I've got #4 now and it's been good for a few months! We've got about a year left on the warranty so I'm not too worried!

Nice monitors, but for the money I'd get something else. Last year I got a nearly new Sony 15" CRT from a local call centre that was upgrading to TFT - they work and look very nice.
