I was flipping through the latest catalog from TigerDirect and noticed the HD-based MP3 player from Kanguru.

It has a few advantages:
Cheap ($229 for 15GB/3.5", $549 for 61.4GB/3.5", don't remember the 2.5" version pricing)
Works as a file taxi. (This is Kanguru's bread and butter)
Lots of interfaces: USB/PCMCIA/Parallel/FireWire

But after that, it seems to be the worst product I've seen. It doesn't have a display, and you arrange playlists by arranging files on the drive in Windows Explorer. I might be tempted to get this version if I wanted a file taxi, but otherwise forget it.

PS: I did pre-order a Nomad Jukebox. The price was right, and I've never really been satisfied with the empeg as a portable solution. And I'm guessing that the hacker community will figure out drive upgrades in all of about two weeks. I'll post a review as soon as it materializes.
