There is probably an obvious answer to this that I don't know but how do I capture a webpage as a jpeg file? I am downloading some updates from the Dazzle website and I want to save the webpage that tells about them, but I am not sure how to do it (I think they are taking down the updates October 1 since they were bought out by the commies at Pinnacle.)

In MS Windows (every version I've tried) you can hit the "Print Screen" button (or is it "Shift-Print Screen") to take a snapshot of the screen. One does the whole screen, the other does just the active window. I just don't remember which does which right now. Then open up MS Paint, Photoshop, whatever and paste the captured image from the clipboard to your image and save.

In *NIX, Open the GIMP, select FILE->ACQUIRE and take your screen shot.

Hope that helps.

Alt-printscreen captures the active window. Printscreen grabs the whole window. Or you could get a copy of backstreet browser and download the whole website to your machine.

Adobe Professional 6.0 has a plug-in that will create a PDF of the entire page - not just whats on screen.

If you don't have Adobe Pro, send me the url, and I'll make you a PDF if you think that will be useful.

Um, have you tried selecting FILE / SAVE AS in internet explorer?

On my version it lets me save just the HTML page ("html only"), or if I choose, it'll sub-save an entire folder with all the sub-graphics ("webpage complete").

I mean, yes you can screen-grab. But it's much nicer to have a web page saved in the original format.

Could I save it without being connected it to the internet? Or does anyone know how to save the entire page and not just on the current scree? I tried the shift/print screen, but it didn't work

Like I say, send me the link and I'll do a pdf. I think adobe can save as a jpeg but I've never tried.

Edit: yes it can do a jpeg, but you lose some quality unless you make a huge file.

Stupid question but why don't you just save the HTML files and the images etc?

Well..I don't know that much about computers, but if the website disappeared, wouldn't that disappear too?

Nope, because you'd have saved a copy of it onto your hard disk.
If you're using a recent IE then it can do it all for you.

Yep, in IE6 (and a number of previous versions) right click on the bookmarked link and select "Make available offline" The wizard steps you through very easy instructions.
