I have a 60gig empeg possibly for sale with original tuner and Mark's docking station (works model).

This is the original tuner which works perfectly.

The empeg is not currently working. I continue to get the "No Hard disk found" error even after trying a new IDE cable and resoldering. It also has the original sled Darkstorm smoke lens and the button hack done by Stu a while back. The knobs are Brian's, color blue. I'd like to sell it all together if possible but will consider all offers. Also I have 2 rio brand remotes.

Please PM me with any reasonable offers.

Thanks,

givin' up eh? I wish i was out there sometime soon so i could take a look at it for ya... wanna wait til xmas? You'd be the second friend of mine who's given up on the empeg because of that problem and many attempts to fix it. Mine is starting to do the same despite resoldering and new cables. Starting to get frustrating to say the least.

Dude.... what Loren said... at least let him look at it if he's in your neck of the woods. If you're in atlanta let me know and I'll see if I can fix it "hehe... my dad's got an awesome set of tools..." It's probably something simple you're overlooking.

I'd be willing to head up to NH to check it out if I thought I could help. What he has already done seems like all I am able to try.

I may be willing to lend you one of my empegs while I take yours to meets to try and get it fixed. Unfortunatley the next meet is probably the CES meet which is basically just a "say hello for 30 minutes then leave" event.

Thanks for the offer everyone. At this point I am leaning towards getting a good portable and using my aux line in my stereo.

Loren if I still happen to have it around Xmas I would love to have you take a crack at it.

With that said anyone interested in buying a slightly broken empeg and/or accessories?

Dude, swing by my place in Concord and I'll try swapping some parts in to see if anything works. I've got a spare and it wouldn't be much trouble at all. Let me know by PM if you're interested in giving it one last shot.

Understandable if you just wanna go with a portable. Different strokes... =]

It makes a lot of sense these days. Other than the interface and expandability issues... if you just want all of your music nice and portable, a karma or ipod or the like to a good quality aux in line is more than suitable for most.

Good luck either way you decide to go... and thanks to those that offered help... said it before and i'll say it again, this generosity on this board never ceases to amaze me. You guys continue to renew my faith in humanity.

It's funny, I feel guilty about putting the empeg up for sale because of this community. Everyone here has been great. The support is amazing. So many people willing to help.

I've had my empeg for about 2 years now and loved it. For the past 4 - 5 months I have been without the empeg in the car. Believe me, I have thought long and hard about giving it up but at this point I just don't have the time to trouble shoot. I have been using a Riot lately to replace the empeg and although I really don't like the UI and lack of empeg features it has been suiting my needs. At this stage I think getting a good portable is better for me. My kids on the other hand will miss the empeg, they loved all the cool visuals.

Again, thank you all for your suggestions and offers to help. Loren is right. This community is amazing.

Thanks again,

No, I haven't tried using a new HD(s). I considered it but like I've said, at this point I am looking to let someone who has more time and ambition to take a crack at it.

The empeg, remotes, and sled have been sold.

I still have one of Mark's docks for sale (works). Asking $150.00

I also have an original tuner. Asking $250.

I know I have a bunch of lenses around as well, some Darkstorm's some Mach's. Actually I know I have a full set of Mach's around asking $30.00 for those. I will have to check on the Darkstorm lenses. I have quite a few colors so PM me if you are looking for something specific. They are all new, never used. I will post again with exactly what I have.

Thanks,

I tried using an iPod on a trip to cali, and nearly wrecked my friends WRX. After that, I had him change the songs.

IMO the ONLY way to go in a car is with a 'fixed mount' unit. Anything else is unsafe madness.
