Gah. 4 hours of digital paint, down the tubes. All I did was resize the brush I was using, and blammo! floating point exception. Poof. All gone, forgot to save.

I did export the photo in a nearly finished state, but with all the layers flattened, which means I'd have to start from scratch. So... what do you say, folks?

You were trying to take out the dead places on the fronds, I assume?

I'd say scrap the photo. With that much retouching, it's just a painting.

It wasn't particularly for anything, really. It would have gone up with the rest of my photos from India. The only changes I had left to make were to clean up some really awful matte lines. A crop from the full-size version:

No, it's actually a comination of two photos that I took on a weekend trip to Alibag, while in India. I set up the camera on a tripod, took a photo of the sunset, which left a silhouette of the frods. Then I took a flash shot of the fronds. This is the result of the two combined. Next time, I'll use a rear-curtain flash, like I should have from the start.
