I recently had my stereo stolen from my car and recently was introduced to Empegs, so I think it is my best bet. But my problem right now is money, I am looking for a empeg for about $375. The eBay auctions are outrageous and are almost 200 more than I am willing to pay. I basically do not need anything crazy, 10GB is good, but I can only pay $375, so does anyone have anything that fits that? THANKS!

What?! Two empegs sold for $352 and $363 on ebay on Dec.28th. I don't recall ever seeing prices that low. I guess that Christmas kept bidders away though - a 10GB sold for $510 on Dec.31st.

ebay is possibly the definitive pricing guide for the empeg. With only ~4000 units worldwide, empeg pricing is very much about supply & demand, which certainly fluctuates.

$375 is hopeful, but certainly possible if you're patient and lucky enough. I think that another $50 would increase your chances considerably though.

I have one that needs repair for $250. It'll will be much more than that If I get the money to send it off to be repaired. But at the moment I am in an economical crisis. Or you could say I'm a motovated seller which effects supply and deman relationships.

As genixia noted above, the best barometer for the market price is Ebay, though sometimes it's higher than anyone would like.

But I'd need to know what's wrong with it first, like what sort of repair does it need? HD connector? re-solder?
What are the specifics of the unit? HD size?
