I saw this question posed some time back and wanted to revive the discussion to see if there is any new information out there. I own an 02 Cadillac Escalade and would like to replace the in-dash 6 disc changer with my Rio unit. I have no particular fear of ripping the Bose components out of a vehicle (my 00 Mercedes was given such treatment within a month of purchase) but I actually like the sound of the factory system in this case as well as the functionality of its interface with OnStar, etc.

I would think that this would be as simple as plugging into RCA jacks since the in-dash changer has no amplification of its own and is run through the stock head unit.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

You could probably swap your changer with one of these auxiliary input adapters, and keep your stereo system intact.
