What I find interesting (or perhaps uninteresting) about it, is that the piece hasn't been really changed musically. Other than his approach to the vocal line being a bit different, the song is essentially the same thing. It's a straight cover.

Don't get me wrong, I'm all for straight covers when done by Band X. But when a big star does a cover, I expect the song to be somewhat different from the original, infused with the new performer's characteristics and arrangement choices. Such as the "Strange Little Girls" album by Tori Amos. Otherwise what's the point?
