Are you sure your NFS program is working properly? I believe this is the spot it hangs if it can't see the proper NFS share. Which program are you using?

I'm using the NFS and Portmapper utilities collected by Dave Brand and located at the jreceiver users group.

I tried the standard Rio Manager instead and this at least gets the Rioplay to boot. It didn't find any of the mp3 music files but it would play the Shoutcast stream.

I'm just on a hub network at home, my ip addresses are 172.18.4.xxx. I don't have any DNS setup. When i use jreceiver i just have a simple window DHCP program (freebie).
