Hi! Anyone else having problems reaching the Empeg BBS? I just get
"Sorry, your DNS server is still pointing to this old server. Flush your DNS cache if possible and try again.
If this error persists, the only solution is to try again later."

I got this for the Rio BBS yesterday as well, but now it seems to work OK.

All works fine for both websites now. I was having problems with this one but it seems to have been fixed yesterday.

Hmm. This one works OK for me, but I can't get the Empeg one to work. If I enter the URL http://empeg.comms.net.riocar.org/php/login.php
I do get the login screen, but when click "login" it's again

That URL gives me the index of "/", with "files/", "index2.php" and "index3.php". The php files just give me the good old error message

Well, it no longer works for me either.

I have also had the same problem. I have also noticed that despite forcing my nameserver to restart so it picked up the right address for empeg.comms.net it has since reverted back to the old IP address.

Let's hope this BBS doesn't disappear from under our feet as well...

Knowing what the PM that's flashing at me says, has become of irrational importance to me!

It is a pain but if you type ".riocar.org" after "empeg.comms.net" at the empeg bbs you may be able to check your pm.

This site was having the same problem (for me anyway) at the end of last week.

Actually, that is on hold for the moment. Every time I mention him getting a computer or getting on the internet he's say "oh no, no..." . So, I'll keep pushing him to it but I'd hate to buy something he didn't use.

I suppose you can trash that cd you've been hanging on to or give it to someone else. Thanks for the help.

Have same problem - I got notification that I have a PM, but can't get to it. The URL just doesn't work! This has lasted long enough that this is not a DNS propagation issue anymore. Anone having any idea of what's going on? Could someone who *can* get into the empeg bbs let the maintainers know we are blocked out?

I am able to get on to the EmpegBBs ever 6 hours or so. Even while in there i get booted after a few pages viewed, I did post a heads up that there may be a problem in the general section before getting booted last time I was there.

Have you tried putting an entry in your hosts file for empeg.comms.net (the IP address is 66.219.41.221).

There appears to be a problem with the name servers for comms.net, with one of them still hanging on to the wrong IP address.
