I was wondering if it's necessary to be a bit careful about yanking power to the empeg? My car's a diesel, so I have to wait for the heating coil indicator to go out before starting the engine. By then the empeg is half-way through it's boot-up process. If I then start the engine the empeg's display will go out, but it comes back up after a short while and appears to have gone right on booting. If I start the engine with the empeg already turned on the display will also go blank and then come back up, displaying a battery icon. Is all this normal behaviour or should I be more careful?

It should be fine. This question has been asked by other diesel owners. Do a BBS search on the word "diesel" and see if those threads come up.
