Since most everyone hears sounds differently, how will the software know what to adjust the EQ too?

Will it just adjust it to a flat response?

Also, will it have some limit so as not to adjust a freq too much? For instance if you dont have a subwoofer hooked up it will it still try to adjust the 40hz band to reach the required response. And the same goes for the high end,if you just have stock"full range" speakers with no tweeters, will it try raising the 12.5khz band to reach its limit.

It will adjust the system to a flat response as heard by the microphone. As a consequence, your systems frequency response will end up as the negation of the mic's response.

It will use the whole range of the EQ so boosts of up to +12dB are possible. Always take care with your volume settings when you have significant low-end boost (true both with and without a subwoofer installed).

My suggestion would be that if extreme hgh or low bands require an excessive boost then turn their gain down to 0dB (or even below) and simply regard those bands as outside the frequency range of your system.

Cheers, John
