I enjoy a decent challenge as much as anyone else but the steps listed here are a little too audacious for a guy who knows ls, cd, shutdown -h now, and thats it for linux!!

Is there a simpler/easier/idiot capable way of getting PPP running on a MkII without becoming a linux guru?
