Well, I finally got around to writing the plugin for jEmplode to export to a .pdb file that Palantir can read. Download the palantir.jar file from my website and place it in your jEmplode plugins directory. Select the plugin to export your database to a .pdb file (one step!). I've also updated the Palantir install instructions with a screenshot and to reflect the steps you need to take if you use Emplode. Enjoy!

Sweet! Way to go!

Anyone know where the plug-in folder is? Do we have to create it?

It's actually called plugins under the main jEmplode directory. (I did not have to create it with jEmplode 58)

I would suggest downloading the latest version of jEmplode just to be sure.

Lately I just download the latest jemplode.jar file, so my install folders have been untouched for quite some time now. I'll check my main directory in a bit to see if it's there.

Thanks!

If it's not there you could probably just create it, as long as you have a recent jEmplode .jar file.

You can also set jempeg.pluginsDir in your jempegrc. It defaults to a folder called "plugins" in the working directory.

Mike, I just wanted to thank you for making the plugins interface in jEmplode. I went by the mini-guide to plugins on this page (I know it's outdated, but I only had to modify a few things). It was a fairly painless process and I was able to re-use almost all my original code with just a wrapper for the plugin.

Again, thanks for doing such a stellar job on jEmplode!

No problem .. I'm actually kind of glad to see that someone actually got some use out of that little plugin api.

Rock on!

Dusting off the Palm now...I'd gotten lazy about keeping up the .pdb's.

How about a "one click" install of empire for those who don't have enough RAM for alpha8, emphatic and empire all at once?

From Mark Cushman's page:
Quote:
Palantir is a Palm application that allows you to create music playlists on the fly and beam them via IrDA to the Empeg car MP3 player. Empire is the software that runs on the Empeg that recieves the IrDA signal and cues up the playlist.

Thanks! I like to mix it up. I'll be looking at an easier install of Empire sometime in the near future.

To be honest, your instructions look straight forward enough. I'm just too lazy to get my serial cable and power supply when I don't even have my PDA up and running yet (still waiting for software from Sony). But once that CD arrives, empire will be up and running in no time I bet!
