Are those the only changes? (Wondering if people who don't use Palantir need to worry about upgrading from 58?)

If you want a complete export to CSV then you should upgrade, otherwise not. jEmplode wasn't exporting a complete listing of all the tracks in the .csv file it wrote.

Anyway, it's your standard download jemplode.jar, overwrite in your jEmplode directory install. One step and you're done.

AHA! That explains some odd behavior I was getting recently. I noticed a discrepancy between the total number of songs on my empeg and the total number of songs on my Jupiter recently. I attempted to find the source of the problem by comparing CSV exports, but there was something wrong and I was getting false discrepancies that I was sure didn't exist. It took me several tries and several hours to locate the real missing tracks.

Yup, that would be it. I only noticed it when my converted .pdb files from the plugin and from the .csv file were not the same size. I started trying to track down the problem, and noticed that jEmplode wasn't writing certain tracks to the .csv file.

Of course I contacted Mike about it and he had it fixed and uploaded to the website in 5 minutes.

Thanks, Mike.

The Animation editor still has a few bugs I'm afraid.

jemplode is forcing black in areas wear it thinks there are no pixels, that way jemplode does not have to write the extra info to the player. jemplode also still treats frames which are identical within the animation as duplicate frames and will not upload them. If you make a change to one of those "duplicate" frames, all other duplicate frames change as well.

Open up this animation and you will see what I mean.

Did you re-enable fast (PC) rebuilds?

Not yet ... This is kind of a pain to bring back and I haven't had the mental fortitude to focus on it yet.

So the first problem turned out to be that the original version of the gif decoding library I used depended on JDK 1.2 to do the alpha compositing of those transparent partial frames. But back in the day, I didn't use JDK 1.2 features, so I removed that ability. I went ahead and switched back to the original library and it should work quite a bit better.

As far as the second problem, I'm not sure I understand exactly what is going wrong. As far as deduplicating frames, that is definitely intentional. If you have 5 of the same frame, you should end up with 1 entry in the frame pool and 5 entries in the sequence list. It /appears/ to be doing that properly, but it sounds like either 1) you don't want that or 2) it's not uploading that properly? Can you clarify a bit? By default, the deduplication is desirable, I believe ... If you really want each in a separate frame, I could maybe make a separate import that does not deduplicate or something?

jEmplode 60 is up there with the transparency fixes -- give it a shot and let me know if it works as you would expect now.

Yeah!
Much better! Thanks.
I had ruled out it being a transparency issue since I save my animations without transparency.

As for the second problem, I understand now why this is desired and should stay that way for creating animations within jemplode. I tested one of my custom animations and the duplicate frames do get uploaded. So as long as it continues to do so, my animations will display correctly on the VFD.

Thanks again.

I dont know if this is a known issue or not or if its just me having a weird blonde moment. But when ever I right click and go to the properties of a play list and then click the playlist tab and check either of those 3 check boxes and hit ok. that selection is never saved. I have to open my player with emplode and do it in order for it to stay.
