Was the empeg bag ever sold with a RioCar logo on it? I can't remember that, so I think no. I'm looking at one right now though.

I never thought so either, but I think I remember someone selling one here recently. I took it for a typo.

I got a friend an empeg off the board and the guy claimed he was a former Rio employee. I didn't think he was lying, but now it's pretty obvious he was truthful. Also, the tuner module sold with the empeg seems to be pre-production.

I don't know if a sled will fit in there. I will try.

It looks like a display model, so I would assume it would be built to house a fully powered player for demo purposes.

Serious geek gear. Don't let that one go!
I have one of the two "empeg" prototype bags.

I bet it won't: but I suspect the empeg will just slide right in there with no effort. You have got some seriously nice stuff here, possibly quite unique. Hold on to it.

empeg prototype bags? Sounds interesting, how are they different than normal?
And I remember a guy a long while back saying that he wanted to create empeg bags. Notably, I remember him talking about stitching the logo onto the bag; with a machine or something. He raised the question of if it was legal.
And speaking of rare empeg stuff, eBay never saw that kickin' 9000Watt 34 speaker presentation stand which that one guy had. Bummer, I wanted a shot at that so I could spice up the NY meet!

I think the guy in question might have been Peter Hisey (I think I have the name right). He worked at Rio's old Tigard, Oregon office and was doing carplayer marketing so had all sorts of cool stuff made. I remember seeing that metal stand on his desk and drooling Hugo

Well, if thats the guy who helped work out the CarToys deals, I think he was on the right path. Probably just a case of him getting started before Rio pulled the plug on the whole project.

I'd be more impressed with Crutchfield. Or Best Buy.
