Can anyone help?

I sold my PCATS tuner on eBay and they received it today. But I just recieved an email to say its not being recognised on their empeg. I can guarantee that it worked 100% on my empeg. I just unplugged it from the sled and posted it off.

Is there any known problems? I have suggested ensuring v2.00 final, loose wires etc.

Hope someone can help.

Phil

The wiring thing is the most likely. If I recall correctly, there are other things internal to the empeg that might cause it, have a search on the BBS for "tuner not recognized" and see if you can find another old thread on it.

Get a boot log -- Hijack probes for the tuner at startup and I think prints out a message like this:

Tuner: loopback=0, ID=3

No such message == tuner not found.

Cheers

I would say that their sled wiring is defective (probably pulled out of the connector at the crimps). They need to remove the sled from the dash, unscrew the connector from the metalwork and then use a multimeter to test for continuity on all the leads for the tuner connector. It's highly unlikely to be your tuner unless DHS (Yo! Bro's!) has nuked it with something while trying to suss what it was. EMP, anyone?

If his harness is knackered, I have new and reconditioned ones for outright sale, repair, or exchange, available. Get him to mail me on [email protected]
