I've got a strange problem with the remote receiver on my mk2.
heres the facts so far.
- remote has been tested on another unit and works fine
- have replaced batteries in remote
- mk2 receives remote codes if remote is within 150mm of the unit.
- /proc/empeg_ir shows no activity when the unit is not recieving sent codes

What should be my next step guys ?
Do I need to replace the IR receiver module ? if so where can i get one here in australia.

If the remote works fine on another player and another remote does not work, it is very likely the IR receiver as you suspected. You might want to check with RobS to see if he has some spares in stock.

I tried messaging RobS but still haven't had a reply. Is there any other way of getting hold of an IR module ?
