ngchol stranger Registered: 04/09/2001 Posts: 78	I've been thinking about getting a media-center type PC, and it occurred to me - would it be possible to cram the necessary hardware into a DIN form factor (possibly double-DIN) without it melting, so one could also have it in the car? I suppose one would need: 256 MB RAM (maybe 512?) 120GB 2.5" HDD (x2?) (1.8" HDDs?) TV tuner (analog? DVB-T?) (twin tuners for watching 1 channel while recording another?) Much faster CPU Sound chip able to support 5.1 (7.1?) output Graphics chip able to support HDTV playback Cooling system (heatsinks? fans? liquid heat exchange?) NEC makes a dual layer DVD+-RW drive in the laptop form factor (ND-6500A). That, plus your HD and a very small mobo/proc combination like the epia would get it done. It'd probably be double-DIN though. DC-DC PSU would use up more space too.
