I had to switch cars with my dad. HIs car doesn't have an amp, anyone know of a cheap simple amp i can use to power the empeg or something. Just something simple I would even be willing to use tape adapter, just need amp for power.

The amp powers the speakers, not the empeg. Are you installing in dash or are you just looking for a solution for a few weeks? You can get or make a simple cable to power the empeg from the cigarette ligher, then plug a tape or fm adapter into the RCA outs on the back. It's ugly, but it'll tide you over.
