I finally got around to putting up the images of my Empeg install into a 2001 PT Cruiser. The install included a new head unit, external amp, mopar subwoofer and a complete set of new speakers. I eliminated ALL factory wires and ran new wires. I hope this helps someone, it was a lot of work. Fire away with questions.

I'll be at the Northern California Empeg meet in March if anyone wants to check it out in person. Just look for the silver Cruiser with the license plates "CRUZ THS".

I like the front styling of the Cruiser very much. But the back is a bit boring..
It's a pitty noone can build a car which looks perfect from every side.
Well - taste IS something very individual

Taste is very induvidual. Anyway, with all those retro cars coming out - the one i like the most is the Prowler. Though it seems that it was only made for the US market. Atleast i've only seen one in Europe - and that was here in Denmark at a exebition. Thats one cool car.

Kaare.

I was going to compliment you on the beautiful and tasteful install, until I noticed the hula girl on the dash... sigh.

Ouch! (as the person behind me kicks me in the ass)

Damn.. You're going to bust on my hula girl? My wife gave that to me for Christmas.. What else was I going to do with it? Besides, it's somewhat amuzing to have the little hula girl dance to my Empeg songs.

Come on hula girl... Shake it baby!!

I had a Hula Girl too, from Hawaii even, but one day during a particularly hard turn she fell right off the dash. :-( See Pic.

Yep, it's turned. When I went to park at a car meet, I parked and left the steering wheel turned that position. The photos were taken by a friend of mine and when I goto them e-mailed to me, I realized whoops, yes it is upside down. :)

...pssst. Calvin, your steering wheel is upside down...

I showed the picture to my local Mitsubishi dealer, he said he could fix that for $197.50 plus parts.

Sorry, to bump this old post up in the queue, but the link to the PT Cruiser install photos is defunct.

Could you provide a working link? There's no way to contact you directly, so I had to go via the board.
