Okay, so I have a few thousand points on AA.com that I might as well transfer to my much more active Aeroplan points account.

Points.com claims to be able to do this, presumably while siphoning off a percentage of the points from me in the process. That's fine.

But, somewhere, they must also be charging money for the service, and I cannot find any info about this on their website. So.. what's it cost?

Thanks.

flyertalk.com is the best place to ask or find anything relating to comercial aviation.

http://www.webflyer.com/programs/mileage_converter/ has some options. They didn't seem to include points.com, and it looked to be a 50% penalty for a 10k transaction.

Mmm... okay, that site says
Quote:
Conversion must be made through Points.com. A single conversion transaction costs $5.95. PointsPlus members who pay $19.95 can make an unlimited number of transactions in a year. Conversion estimates are approximate as Points.com conversion ratios vary based on the amount of miles/points converted.

So the cost is US$5.95, and they seem to convert the points with a 10:1 ratio.. probably not worth my time to pay $6 for 468 (net) points (from 4800 AAplus points).

Cheers
