Dumb question but I did a fast search and even tried the download and latest software link at the top of the page as well as the empeg site and all I can find is version 2.xxx

Its been a while since I have been here I'll be reading the threads to see if V3 is really what I want but input would be nice.

No prob. Just to warn you, v3 is still a bit flakey. I can't remember which one out of v3a10 or v3a11 is least buggy.

* Receiver Edition (car2-*-v3.00RE-alpha11.upgrade)

This build turns your car-player into a Rio Receiver-like home
audio player, capable only of playing audio content from a network
server, not from its own hard disks. You will need Rio Receiver
server software running somewhere on your network. Consult the
release notes for alpha 8 Receiver Edition for more details.

Anyone tried this addition? I also cannot find the server software for it. I have never seen a Rio Receiver in action is the interface a Rio Receiver interface or is just like the regular empeg but the music files reside on the server? Any help would be greatly appreciated

I haven't tried it, but I do know that it is the normal empeg interface, with the music on the server.

The server software is here http://www.digitalnetworksna.com/support/rio/product.asp?prodID=99
