I have a Volkswaggen Passat in which the dash looks like http://empegbbs.com/files/136997-DSC01442.JPG and I read in a post that Congo Blue or Dark blue looked the best. Anyone with extra lenses or a rainbow lense kit that wants to sell it...please contact me.

I don't think anyone (read: BC Laserworks / Filener) currently makes a dark blue lens. Your best bet is to get a factory original dark blue lens. Those would look great.

And, nice buttons! Hm, maybe red buttons with the blue lens.....

I have a whole stack of various Darkstorm lenses laying around. I am pretty sure there is a dark blue in there somewhere... When I get out of the office I will take a look.

I believe that dark red may possibly be a close match also, as I tried the original red lense but it looks more orange and/or brown than the red on the car's dash. Just like the original blue looks more green or light blue than the car's dash. I do believe I might try the red or the blue lit buttons with an opposite color lense. It would appear that it would match nicely.

Any luck finding the extra lenses to sell?

If not, any suggestions on what I could do.

Step 1) Buy a smoke or clear lens here.
Step 2) Buy gel filters here or here.
Step 3) Take an X-Acto knife and cut gel filter into shape of empeg lens by using empeg lens as a template.

Oh. Right. Sorry about that - things have been busy at the office, and I completely forgot. Please send me an email (it is in my profile) or a PM. I am sure I have one.

It's been a bit of a quest of mine to get the empeg to match with my VW GTI dash. I have a set of Darkstorm gel filters (sorry, not willing to part with them), but I can advise against the Congo Blue. While the resultant color is fairly close to the VW "indiglo" color, it is rendered unreadable in daylight. There just isn't enough light getting through the dark filter.

My solution was a set of 430nm LEDs from Mouser (and some elbow grease from Stu at Eutronix ), a clear button set from Greenlights, and a Darkstorm Fluorescent Red lens (no longer available). This combination still isn't perfect (LEDs a tad too violet; red lens a bit orange), but I'm happy enough. I have a crummy old Kodak digital camera but will attempt some pics tonight.

By the way, I replied via PM if you are still interested in those lenses.
