Yes, cool picture. Remember the old Clapton references? Now we've got our own: EMPEG IS GOD.
You can tell from the setup that the picture was taken at the Rio booth at a trade show. ___________

Why doesn't someon just order 100 shirts, and we can vote on a design, then all purchase a t-shirt. ?? Anyone have any ideas on how to do that? Maybe a contest or something, everyone send in designs, then we vote online, and eveyone can pre-pay, and then we make the shirts and send them out. It would be a small run, just the people one this BBS and the people they know. It would be like a part of this close comunity.

Well spotted, you earn 10 Ikea brownie points. Another 20 points for whoever names the Ikea furniture in the photo, and at which show it was used.

I know a couple of t-shirt printing places here in Jax. If y'all are interested, I can get some prices. We'll need to know how many colors on each side, and what color fabric for the shirts.

How about gray or black for the color of the shirt, and then the blue logo for empeg on the front over the pocket area, then in the back, we can make up some design with some kind of slogan or something like, "empeg, the mp3 god" or something. Lets get an area on the web for people to send their design ideas, and then we can vote. Maybe i can through something together.

This is pretty much like the embroidered tee-shirts I did for the guys at empeg a year or so ago.
I can still do embroidered, custom shirts to order (with our whizz-bang computer controlled sewing machine) so long as they do not infringe empeg or Rio copyrights and trademarks. One of the few remaining Mk1 owners... #00015

Well, if everyone wants to send me their shirt design as a grapihc, or idea... i'll put them up on my web site, then we can vote later. I'll want some time to think of some ideas too. send them to me at: [email protected], make sure they are small, like a jpg or something. -CHiP

Oh, you guys are funny! Do you remember the hullabaloo that went on for nearly a week when Rob suggested that empeg might silkscreen a tiny logo on the bottom of the faceplate? (see here ). There were over 70 posts and opinions about what words would appear in the logo and even what fonts would be appropriate... and when that thread got unwieldy, Dionysus started a new one on the same topic (see here ) with another two dozen opinions lasting another week or so. In the end, no consensus was ever reached.
That was for a three-word slogan and a penguin -- and you think you are going to get a consensus on a T-shirt? Lots of luck.
The only way this will work is for CHiP to say "I'll design the thing, anybody wants one send me the money." I know this from experience with the local bicycle club which redesigns the official club jersey every five years or so. This is one area where a committee is not only difficult, it is counter-productive.
But an empeg T-shirt is a neat idea, so don't let me rain on your parade.

Yeah, I know exactly what you mean, and i agree 100%. Maybe i'll just design 3 different ones, and then people can vote on one.
The only problem that i see is if i order the shirts and then no one sends in the money. Maybe I could collect the money first then order the shirts to keep from getting screwed.
Does anyone have any ideas for how someone (either myself, or someone else) could order the shirts and keep from getting screwed? Or do i have to get order 100 or 50 shirts and hope they sell?

I'd be willing to pay for a T shirt. Make sure you get it approved with the Rio/empeg guys first. A short sleeve polo shirt with the empeg logo embroidered on the front would be really cool. I would make sure you get the money first before you order anything, otherwise you could be stuck with a ton of shirts.

uhhh, if "cash on the nose" means wait until everyone has paid before ordering, then I agree. Set up a paypal acct or something, add whatever fees paypal charges, and when you have enough to order a batch of 64 or 144 or whatever, stop taking orders.
Just an idea...

yea, that sounds good, who else would be intereted from this bbs? I would want to make sure there is an interest before i start taking people's money, cause if i only get a few people, and not enough to make a run, then i'll be stuck giveing back their money and getting stuck with the paypal fees. I'll think more abot it and get back. Hmm....
....so who else IS interested? are we talking 5, 10, 25, or 50 people? in the mean time i'll check on how small an order, and how much they will cost for the different kinds of shirts. :)
