I bought a Mark II from someone on this board, it had V2 installed. The empeg is programmed to shut up 5 seconds after accesory power is off. I tried it in my friend's sled in his car, same thing. I tried his empeg in my car, it worked fine, so it's not the wiring. I upgraded to version 3 and now it takes 1 minute to build music database when turned on.. so I'm going to go back to V2 again. Any reason why the empeg shouldn't turn off? I replaced the HD recently and it has the same issue.. help? lol

Also: After you go back to version 2 (good idea since the V3 alpha still has a few issues), you might need to do this.

my only deal is that unless I'm crazy (which I may be) my friend's player worked correctly (went into standby and shut off soon after) in my car's sled. And my empeg wouldn't go into standby in his car. And when I manually shut down my player with ignition off, the player won't ever actually shut off either.. I'm going to text my friend, maybe I'm nuts. thanks for the quick repsonse though, you're awesome.

All of the symptoms you just described are consistent with one of the failure modes listed in the link I supplied above. Please read the entire link and follow the sub-link about the AC sensor switch.
