OK so I am having the infamous Rotary Encoder Problem...
I live near Boston, MA and I was wondering if there is
anyone (relatively) nearby that I could bring my 60GB MK2a to
to have this repair done...

I might want to also do LED buttons but really what I want
is that AnoFace. So if LED buttons don't fit behind AnoFace
I'll probably skip LED's

Anyone nearby up for the task?

LED buttons can be combined with the ano face (guess you mean the ones by 303?) as there are transparent buttons available and you could cut small pieces of colored plastic (of whatever source) and insert inside the knobs, above the LED, to get the wanted color).
The effect on the knob is IMO pretty minimal though, due to very small holes in the knob.

Can't help you with anyone local to help you with encoder or other fittings, sorry.

OK, so are you saying that if I do the LED kit, the anoface will not fit?
or you just won't be able to see the lights through anoface?

No, AnoFace will fit with LED buttons, but not with the buttons from FireFox31. You can get transparent buttons for the AnoFace and you can put colored filter on the inside of those buttons to get different colors in the buttons.

You can also install LEDs in colors other than white if you are willing to commit to a certain color.

The two most well known empeg repair folks somewhat close to Boston (i.e. at least they're in North America) are Eutronix (see link at top), in Louisiana, and mlord, in Ottawa. You're best off contacting them directly, and finding out which of them has the most spare cycles at the moment -- both tend to be fairly busy with Real Life much of the time.
