Just to let you all know, we are coming up to the second owner's meet in Amersfoort, NL sometime soon, possibly around the end of May. Although no date has been nailed down yet, there is "official" interest, and there will be a few surprises!

So dust off your party hats and get ready to boogie - details to follow soon!

I am intrested but i am a cheapskate and don't want to pay for my car on the ferry anyone else from the uk going and i might try and scrounge a lift. Or alternatively we could take my car with contirbutions towards ferry ticket

Also anyone wanting a stand this might be a good time for you to get it.

See the stand thread if you have no idea about what i speak

Cool. This is NL like in "Netherlands" and not some US-state I haven't heard about?

I may be going to Copenhagen end of May. How far would it be to drive from there?

No, didn't you hear? They split Louisiana into two states: North and South.

The event is actually at a Campanille hotel. I will post details if you want to reserve a room - the rates are quite reasonable (Fl 130-, about GBP 35.00). We will be using the hotel and I am looking at reserving a lecture theatre for our exclusive use during the day. We may also have a jazz band, coffee, ice-cream and the local auto audio shop might take part. Should be fun!

Sorry. Was just joking.

I'm sure the US residents got a kick out of it, though.

Oh Rob,
won't it be possible to move the second meet to the beginning of June? Me and my friend would love to come to NL with our empegs this time; we couldn't make the first meet, and our vacancies won't be available before June....
so some chance to shift it to June?? Just a few days?? Please....

Ciao

The date has not been fixed yet. I will be prepared to pin the date according to people's wishes, but the intention is defintely end May/start June. Give me an indication of your possible dates and I will bear them in mind.

Unfortunately the date I have suggest to Rob from empeg's viewpoint is May 27th, as this will enable quite a lot of us to attend (the Monday is a bank holiday, so we won't lose a working day). The other major problem with the following weekend is that Eddie Izzard is performing in London!

Of course this is entirely in Rob Schofield's hands, as he is the organiser.

Is very-nearly-June any good for you Frank?

Rob

PS Rob - I emailed your home address this morning.

Great Rob !! Don't know if you remebmer me (Sebastiaan), but you invited me to see your Empeg Mk 1 in the beginning of 2000. I then visited you with my girlfriend, and you gave me the Empeg virus. Well I got my MK2 in January and installed it in my TDI. Maybe you saw the pics (see "install pron") Let me/us know asap when you have more details. If you need any help, let me know. I live in A'dam. Send me a mail. All the best. Sebastiaan(TDI)

I'll contact my work office tomorrow, as nobody's in there yet. Perhaps May 27th MIGHT be also fine, but as I'd have to work on Monday morning won't fall in love with that date... I have a call tomorrow, but I don't think it looks to fine...
Ciao
Frank

P.S. Besides: Who cares if RioCar-formerly-known-as-Empeg-guys attend the meet ?
Or are you gonna bring ver. 1.1 along with you?? ...just kidding...

Well, like I said - You never know! (he says, mysteriously ).

We saw an early 1.1 in October, and it's been 6 months of hard work and testing since. Who knows what might arrive with Rob and the guys on the day? You need to come along and see for yourself. Come and win the distance prize!

Yesssss sir,

And since the 27th May is AOK for me, the chances are that I'll be doing the 800Km run from Zürich.

Anybody want a lift?

Nick.

Yeah, I remember!

Glad you bought one - I seem to have been responsible for a mini-wave of sales in NL . Edwin, Henno, Rick, all seem to have been bitten hard by the demo and my excrutiating sales patter (by the way, I really don't get anything from empeg if you buy one - except the fun of knowing you made the right decision )

Hope to see you at the owner's meet - details to follow soon.

This is to confirm the date of the owners weekend as Sunday, 27th May in Amersfoort, NL. The event is in the car park of the Campanile hotel, Amersfoort-North, with various events planned and members of the empeg/Rio staff planning to be present.

For those of you with a long way to travel, you may want to look into booking a room at the hotel directly, and travel the day before.

As soon as I have a timetable of events for the day, I will post it here.

I'm sorry I wasn't able to manoeuvre the date to be convenient for everyone , but I'm sure you'll agree, it has to suit the greatest number of people.

Looking forward to seeing you again, and all the new faces - make a date in your diary now for the weekend!

Looks like I'll be able to make it! High five'ing some imaginary friend...

If anyone is looking for a ride from anywhere between Gothenburg Sweden
and Amersfoort (ie southwestern Sweden, Copenhagen area Denmark,
northwesternmost Germany) I have a seat free (possibly two, but
it's a small car, VW Polo, and with some gear/luggage it'd probably be
uncomfortable for anyone in the rear seat...)

Will probably start from Gothenburg early Saturday or in the evening
of Friday for a night drive (and have some time on Saturday to take a
brief look at Holland)

OK, this sounds good. Dedication! You may even get the distance prize!

I'm going to post directions for travellers soon, so keep an eye on the board for directions to Amersfoort. It will be signposted from the motorway, so you should have little trouble finding it.

Had a look at the page for hotel (linked in an earlier post in this thread)
and at the http://www.multimap.com and it doesn't look to hard to find coming down A28.
Using the zoom at the multimap site you can get down to street level.

An online route planner is available at http://www.euroshell.com
