Well I am still having trouble with my in and out of stereo that I am not sure what is causing but I had another question. Most all my stations have RDS of some sort; some actually give artist name title of song, etc... while others just seem to give out their call letters/numbers and phone number, web address, etc.... Anyway ever since I assembled my PCATS tuner the RDS information has never scrolled across the screen continuously correct. By this I mean letters from words get mixed together and then every now and then the words come out correctly. Is this normal? Also should the RDS letters come on and stay on? Or should they come on for a little bit then go over, then back on, etc...?

That's the way it works with the original empeg-branded tuners, too. Apparently the way the US does that scrolling RDS info is nonstandard, at least for Europe, and the empeg never really supported it well.

The RDS station/tune info works for me here in Ontario, Canada. But not all stations set it up completely "correctly".

Do your radio stations "scroll" information on the RDS feed? So that it looks like:

Code:
The Beatles - Elea

one moment, and then a while later it looks like:

Code:
eatles - Eleanor R

?

Probably 80% of the content that gets displayed is garbage.

I edited this post......

That would be an example of it working right. If that's what you're seeing, count yourself lucky.

Usually for me the timing is off and I get two different scroll offsets overlapping, like
Code:
The Beatleseanor R

My mistake, I didn’t pay to close attention. I was taking it being misspelled but now I see you are referring to it scrolling the info. Mine seems to have bits and pieces of words merged together with every now and then they come out correctly.

I thought that my tuner RDS was intermittently receiving the RDS information. But it sounds like this just may be the way it is in the US.
