I am having a problem with my Mk2a. I will be driving along and the audio and screen will cut out. After a second or two the screen will come back to life with the battery icon in the upper left hand corner. Then a few seconds after that the music will resume...or not. The audio does not always resume and I have to reboot the player. This only happens in my car. Any idea as to what is going on? I am going to get a volt meter from a firend of mine to check my cars electrical voltage to see if I am having an issue there. It just seems funny that the player doesn't just shut down totally if there isn't enough voltage from the supply side.

A new battery fixed that problem for me once. That said, there are other causes with the same effects.

Probably worth a trip to AutoZone to get your battery tested for free.
