I'd like to recommend the UK tyre fitting service that I used the other day. I always make sure that we have top quality tyres fitted to our cars, so I am always looking for a cheap source of tyres.

In the past I have used http://www.blackcircles.com/ and http://mytyres.co.uk/ to get good prices on tyres. Both these services courier the tyres to you and then you have to take them to a local fitter to get them fitted.

When I discovered the other day that I had less than 20 hours to get a new set of tyres it was obvious that my usual sources weren't going to be able to deliver on time.

After a bit of Googling I found a few mobile fitters, one of them was http://www.event-tyres.co.uk/

I emailed them at about 11pm. At 8am then next morning they phoned to say that they could supply the exact tyres I wanted and that they could fit them that day. By 2pm the same day they had turned up and fitted them.

On top of that speedy service they were also cheaper than both blackcirles and mytyres.

Highly recommended.

P.S. the fitter actually used a torque wrench to refit the wheel studs, long time since I have seen that...

I bought new tyres for the clio from mytyres with a 10% discount because I was a member of the boy racers club, sorry cliosport.net. Very good price, even before the discount. I was going to have them fitted by Renault Bury when they did my 12k service, but sadly the tyres didn't arrive in time (out of stock).

Ah - event tyres don't come anywhere up near me, so maybe they are England only. Anyway, Black circles will do me a set of Bridgestone SO3 P-zeros for under £100 fitted (each), so I'll go for that. They seem to blow away all other tyres...at least on a Scooby. Still get around 12-15000 miles out of them which is pretty good for someone who always drives sideways.

Wow, just had a look at event tyres, i'd have saved £40 and the hassle of finding someone to fit them if I'd known about them when I sorted the clio out. I'm sure sn00p will be interested in this.

The smart had the mother of all punctures on Saturday and luckily Smart Assist got it back to my house without much fuss. I then had to sort out a replacement tyre (as the smart has no spare). I remembered this thread so I put an order in on Sunday. Monday morning they rang me and agreed to come over at 2PM to fit the new tyre. By the time I get back home it's 5 past 2 they've already fitted the new tyre and are sat waiting in their van. I pay on Switch, sorry, Maestro... and they go.

Absolutely amazing! Considerably cheaper than anywhere else.... Another glowing recommendation especially to anyone who doesn't carry a spare.

I thought Smart Assist would change a tyre for you?

Smart Assist arrived in the form of an AA low loader, I was told they don't change tyres on the roadside, neither would they let me drop it off at Smart Manchester (it was 11:30 at night).

Glad you found them so good as well. I'll be calling on their services again soon, the Scooby will need new tyres before the end of the summer.

Sort of tyre related, has anyone ever tried those mobile wheel reconditioners? Due to three screaming sprogs and adverse traffic conditions I've scraped a huge amount of lacquer off an alloy on my 4 month old Audi, thought I should get something done about it.

Not had it done myself, but I know people who have and have been very pleased with the results. Of course that may be dependant upon the person that does the work.....

I'm digging up an old thread here, but I just had some new boots on my car courtesy of Event Mobile Tyres. Good price, fast efficient service, really excellent. Definitely using them again, purely for the great convenience factor of having new tyres fitted while at work

Glad to see they are still on form. I expect I'll need a couple of tyres for my Impreza again in the new year.

That is a hilarious tire! If it were available for motorbikes I'm sure it would sell well to the female-biker crowd. Not sure about the rain performance, though. LOL
