i just upgrades my sound system in a 2007 ford escape to include a subwoofer...unfortunaley the HU does not have any LPF controls, although this is selectable on the dedicted amp....

as i kinda like to have this functionality available up front, does anybody know of any aftermarket active LPF's that i can install to provide me with this functinality?

Thanks,

Ed

The search term you're looking for at the car-stereo-gear sites is "Active Crossover".

Sometimes this feature is built in to aftermarket equalizers, although there is such a thing as a dedicated active crossover box.

If the feature is built into your amp, though, why do you want it up front? A crossover is something you generally fiddle with only when you're first setting up the system, and then it doesn't really get changed after that.

in my Miata i have an adjustable LPF for the sub and i find that i do change it often depending upon the music i listen to...the bass lines from 70's R&R is far different from some contemporary artists and thus i have to filter out some of the higher bass to get rid of the boominess....

Well, if you're using an Empeg you can just pick a different EQ preset. wink
