I have a working 1.10 Gracenote CDDB support cd. I finally got a copy from Rio directly. If someone has a place I can put it, I would be happy to as the one on the RIO site is corrupt. If anyone wants me to ship them a cd, I would also be happy to. I think 5 dollars for shipping and handling and the cost of the cd is fair? If you want one, paypal me at [email protected]. Like I said, I would be willing to upload it somewhere, just let me know where.

I believe you mean Gracenote CDDB.

It's OK, I've made the same slip before.

Hi Mike,
Thanks for the offer. I just might take you up on that if it doesn't get uploaded somewhere....

One question...I was under the impression that the CDDB database included with that version is the same as the original CD released with the Central. Have you compared the date/time stamps of the CDDB files on your new CD with an original to see if they match or are different?

By the way, when Rio originally posted the large file containing the ISO image on your CD, it was indeed corrupt. Eventually, after sending a lot of emails to Rio support, one of my ReplayTV contacts arranged to get the corrupted file replaced or updated.

The funny thing is that now at least the file will unzip and I can successfully burn it to a CD and use it. But the unzipping process does generate an error message of some sort (I don't remember what it was)....

Your CD would be of value to me, and I'm sure others, if the CDDB database was upgraded...I've sent many emails to Gracenote trying to see if there might be a way we can get an updated database for the Central now. Since the Rio was at one time a licensed product using the Gracenote CDDB, I thought I'd poke around and see if I could get a friendly person to help out.

Unfortunately, I've never received nothing more than a form letter answer to my emails, so I have nothing to report on that front....As I copy my newer CDs to the Central, it is doing more and more Internet lookups than it used to with the older ones I've already copied....Oh well, I guess that's the way it goes...

Thanks, Randy

I never had an original to compare it to. If you can give me dates/times fo maybe your cd, I can compare the rest. actually, looks like only 3 files. Here is the data from those:

ecddb.idx 122,684 KB 11/29/2001 4:54am
ecddb.mdt 372,320 KB 11/29/2001 4:55am
ecddb.pkg 220 KB 6/8/2001 5:55am

Looks like these may be old. I did try and download the image again and it is corrupt. Wont even unzip. If someone can spare a spot to put this online, I would be very happy to upload it. I think some of us may need this. I know I waited for almost 2 years for this cd. Maybe someone can figure out how to update the CDDB data on the cd?

I'm out of town right now in Florida, but will be back on Thursday and will check out the file timestamps....

Thanks, Randy

If I connect my HSX-109 to the internet successfully, does Gracenote still support it?
If not, is there a recommended suggestion to avoid having to type in things manually?

Many thanks!

Yup, my Rio Central still gets CD track titles from the internet when I insert a disc.

I'm pretty sure only the broadband support works on the Central now, though. I don't think dial-up support works any more (someone correct me if I'm wrong?). So you need one of the supported Ethernet dongles, and a proper network configuration set up.

Help, please! I need an installation .iso for my hsx-109.
New drive. Installation CD I have has a crack in the foil/middle of the CD, so it won't load
