Has anyone tried the version of Picasa for linux ? I am using it for windows and really like the "screen saver" that pulls photos from my web albums and was thinking of setting up a second computer / monitor just to run this to display my photos. I am wondering if the Linux version has this or is there another piece of software for Linux that would work.

Alternatively something for windows that would always so a slide show on a 2nd display and would pull photos from my picasa web album would work too.

I used it briefly while travelling -- The "Linux" version is simply the Windows .exe file running under Wine.

As such, it should be near 100% identical to what you see on Windows.

Cheers

I got it running in a vmware player ubuntu install to try it out. The Linux version has the screen saver disabled for some reason. I thought I could just do a slideshow instead but I can't get picasa to add photos from my windows share. I can mount the folder on my windows pc that has the pictures in it but I can't find it in Picasa.

Any idea what I am doing wrong ? Something that would pull from my Picasa web albums would be the best.
