I hadn't seen this until today. Someone sent an internal memo about laptop recommendations and this was in the email thread:

Very clever. I'm going to remember that so I can use it someday. Not much chance to use it on this BBS (except on me), but perhaps elsewhere.

Heh, yeah, I like that site, and it's a great idea, but I've never thought to actually use it on someone. I'd really come off as the stereotypical IT guy.

Plus, the recipient might argue that more time was spent sending that than actual helpful info, though I guess there's the "teach a man to fish" argument...

Yes, I think the danger of being branded a tw*t in front of all your cow orkers is quite high.

Yeah, but it'd be great on a fellow IT guy that SHOULD know better. Not that I have anyone in mind. -=ahem=-

I'll say! We've missed you. Where have you been for the last 23 months?

Busy frown

I played way too much poker (I made a good deal of money, but got burned out), then myself and the Mrs. got into World of Warcraft (bad, bad addiction- I'm now the GM of a raiding guild), and now we're having a baby.

Oh, and the bank I work for was shut down by the Fed on Friday frown

I forgot how much I missed you all and my connection to all things geek related until I came across this browser shortcut while cleaning stuff off my work computer. I hope some of the old folks are still around.

On the positive side I've showed most of our (soon to be no longer) IT department the link to the lmgtfy site and they LOVE it. Apparently most of us are not afraid to wield this great new power . . .
