You'll never guess who I ran into:

Thanks for the lunch and the advice on places to check out. We'll be headed over to the locks in the morning. The troll was pretty cool too.

Nice. I think that is classified as an official empeg mini-meet!

I notice in the photo you had to lean perfectly to get the PCC arch to line up. grin

I really liked the troll too.

Here's a fun challenge: try to go see "A Sound Garden." It's worth it, especially on a windy day, but it's not easy smile

My Mom is one of 2 surviving sibs out of 14 (your basic Portuguese immigrant dairy farm family). If I remember right, 8 or 9 of her 11 brothers were bald before age 25. That really helped reinforce the notion of bald-is-normal/beautiful (they were/are some serious dudes). I feel sorry for guys that have to stress out all day over their comb-over, rug or Rogaine.

Heh, good work on the PCC sign. I pedalled across the bridge and through that Fremont+34th intersection around 6AM today and then again at 5:30 PM. No sign of youse guys.

Sorry Jim ...forgot your were in Seattle or I would have pinged you too frown It was kinda a spur of the moment thing. I emailed him at like 10 and we were having lunch by 12:15.

The PCC arch was random chance...I'm not sure why the lean...maybe it's just my "ghetto lean" smile

Oh, please not to worry. Personally, I am on the way to becoming a completely anti-social hermit. Many say I am already there. I haven't met up with Tony in all this time. I was just doing a little "been there!" bragging and on living in Seattle in general. Hella day yesterday and today, too (Which I was forced to take the day off today) smile

The locks were pretty cool. We got there just as they were letting a bunch of boats through. There were Salmon running, but not a lot of activity from above the water when we were there (salmon lunch hour maybe?). We could see many of them swimming around from the windows below the water. Definitely a neat place to check out. The park was quite nice since it was a beautiful day.

My wife's friend took some pictures. Just ignore all the baby pictures.

Actually, Salmon Lunch Hour is when you get the most above-the-water activity. The bay just above the locks gets a lot of leaping salmon when the bugs are out in the late afternoon and at twilight.

Glad you enjoyed yourself while you were here, and I'm especially glad you got to see my favorite part of the city. It was great to see you and your family.
