Your bug report seems to indicate that Beta6 is assuming there's a tuner module present in all cases, and failing if it's not there. If that's true: OOPS.
Since I'm beta-testing a prototype tuner module, I don't have an easy way of testing to reproduce it without a tuner plugged in. Anyone else?
(Note: Make sure you're not installing a Mk1 (Car1) upgrade file on a Mk2 (Rio Car) player!) ___________

No problem at all. The 1.3 beta6 works great without the tuner module.
*sniff* I hope to have a tuner module soon!

Works for me, doesn't hangup or stumble. I have notice in 1.03betaX the screen says loading tuner module in 1.03beta6 it says radio module.
BTW-Tony I have a hell uva time getting a report via hyperterm using ctrl-T when plugging the empeg in, no matter how fast I try to beat it to the punch I can never get into the diagnostic cycle. What's the trick?

Works fine for me, I've been using it all weekend (without a tuner). Are you sure you didn't download the Mk.1 version?

I don't know. Never had a problem.
Things to know:
- Must be a Mark2
- Must be hooked up in advance, hyperterm must be past its bootup screen and waiting (don't try to start hyperterm and boot the empeg at the same time)
- Hyperterm settings must be exactly right
- Need good cable
- Need zero IRQ conflicts with the serial port
Other than that, I don't know. Any tips, Hugo?

Yes to all requirements above my routine is start hypertrm, open .ht settings saved for empeg then plug-in empeg & hit ctrl-T as quickly as I can but it continues to show the usual bootup info, ? I have the developer version (1.03 beta 6) or should it be consumer version?

It's not consumer/developer dependent, it's in the boot block (ie, it's always there).
It'll skip the test if it thinks it's in car ("On DC power, quick boot" on the serial). Try holding down ctrl-T, then applying power?

IT WORKED THE FIRST TIME, OK I'm fine now, I don't know how many times I tried to plug it in then see if I could beat the bootup, I've seen alot of ^T's scrolling along hypertrm.
Thanks Hugo!

The temperature reading must be in Celcius, it read 48* the outside temp. was >85* and the empeg spent the day inside the car the whole time, it rather warm to the touch when I ran the diagnostic. So that comes out about right if you convert it, though I would've thought it would be warmer than the outside temp. Oh well at least it keeps it's cool even in a hot car.

See, it's not only an MP3 player, but an air conditioner as well.

LOL
Would that it actually was one, the car it's in most of the time doesn't have A/C at the moment, where do you turn the blower up it doesn't seem to be under 'settings'.
