I just realized why I'm not getting good reception on my FM radio.. I accidentally connected the amplifier red cord to the 12v power in from the batterie instead of connecting it to the auxillerary control from the Empeg. Do you think I killed it by doing that??? or can I just fix that and it will start working?

The aux control line is also 12V, so you won't have damaged the amplifier. The reason for connecting it to aux instead of permanant live is to prevent long term discharge of the battery when the vehicle is not in use (and it would be VERY long term as the amp takes very little current).
