I have a 3.5" IDE 80 GB hard drive left over from my TiVo upgrade that will end up in the landfill if nobody here wants it.

The price is extravagant: $.05 for the hard drive, plus $4.95 for Priority Mail flat rate shipping -- $5.00 total.

I remember the "good(?) old days" when we could but yearn for the very idea of someday in the distant future having a whole gigabyte of hard drive storage for less than $1,000. But of course, nobody would actually need a whole gigabyte... what would you do with all that storage?

I worked for a computer store in 1985 and we sold IBM stuff (of course).

Their 300MB full height drive was *our price* $4500.

I remember having a 40MB drive (Seagate ST251 MFM!!) on my Atari 130xe. -- Wowzers. So much space, so little time!!
