So, it looks like somebody has started up what is essentially AllofMP3 for movies. Looks like for insanely cheap prices (like, what they were charging for one friggin' music track on AoMP3), you can buy a full length, 1080p movie.

But yeah, I'm really suspicious of the service. I'm not sure if I want to trust them with a credit card or anything. I gave them a throwaway email address, but you can't download anything or start a free trial without credit card info (and I don't have a throwaway one of those smile ).

So, is anyone here going to try this thing?

The first movie I saw on the front page was a sub-SD resolution version of Avatar. That instantly rang alarm bells to me.

Well I just tried the free preview of Inglourious Basterds in "1920 x 800" resolution. No need for an account or anything.

Appox 87MB mkv download for a 1 minute preview. Averaged about 250kByte/sec to Australia so not bad speed wise. The complete movie is ~11 GB. Good quality picture (so a Blu Ray rip most likely) and DTS soundtrack that streamed through my MythTV box to my receiver.

That said this movie is out on DVD etc compared with Avatar which as mentioned basically has to be a handycam job.

One of my credit cards has a way to generate throwaway numbers with time and value limits. You might want to check to see if one of your cards has something similar.

As far as ZML, it's got the same sort of semi-legal status that AllofMP3 had, from the Russian licensing body.
