I keep finding new things around here that I want to control and or monitor. Usually, I just wire them into zippy (our 24/7 mini-itx server) via some USB-controlled GPIO pins or whatnot.

But with a sizeable stack of empegs here, I'm thinking now of making use of their compact size, built-in ethernet, graphical display, and general portability. Several projects come to mind.

But this will mean augmenting or replacing the stock software, with a more full-featured Linux distro.

Now I do have the full Debian Potato (for ARM) here, and could just use that, I suppose. It's pretty much the same vintage as the factory software, ISTR.

But has anyone here put something much newer onto an empeg?

??

Peachy. Thanks.

NOTE: it was doubly gzip'd.
