Since then, no changes to configuration.

Power up the unit, typical RIO banner, and initialization messages.
Unit goes into standby mode (pulsing power light). This has always occured.

Press power button. Nothing.

IP address does show up on net, though Emplode can not find Empeg.
USB does not connect either.

With Hyperterminal, there's a few errors about mounting hda, though searching the forum, some of these appear normal.

Now that I'm at a BASH prompt, is there something I can review that might give me insight that it is (or is not) a software/disk problem?

Or even issuing a "force unit on" command? This to decipher if it's a not the power button.

I can post the full boot up if necessary. Just want some initial advice

Well, it's on if you have a bash prompt, it's just the player app isn't running.

Tried working your way through the rebuilding database (etc) commands on riocar.org's faq?

Posting the serial log might also help...

Maybe try starting the player app from the command line. Perhaps the current song is corrupted, causing the player to crash?
