As a 15+ year empeg owner, I find this question a bit embarrassing, but for the first time in about five years I now have an empeg functioning in my car.

I don't remember diddly about how to run it. I remember the down-down-down thing for full player shuffle, and I think if I press and hold the next-track/previous-track buttons it will fast forward/reverse. And if I press the top button it will pause, press and hold the top button turns it off completely, otherwise it's in standby. But that's about it.

I have a genuine Rio remote that I seem to recall does magical things. There's a parametric equalizer inside the player somewhere. Wasn't there some way to set bookmarks, or was that the Karma? I have emplode 2.0.19 on my computer, and I have some version of HiJack about five years old. [Edit: HiJack v508]

Sigh... is there a link to an owner's manual, or should I just start at the beginning of the empeg FAQ and read it through to the end?

Peripherally related to the above post... About five minutes after plugging my empeg into the wall for the first time in years, the power supply (the wall-wart) quit. Testing shows zero output, a different power supply runs the empeg with no problems.

Is this an expected consequence of non-use for extended period of time?

All my original Empeg power supplies have failed over the years. As Robert Frost pointed out: something there is that doesn't love a wall-wart.

Even better than a manual, would be Tony's clickable image of an empeg(Rio) remote with the context sensitive popups explaining what everything does.

I believe David Moss is still keeping the site alive, and Hugo has the domain paid off till 2017.

Don't feel bad Doug, I'm starting to use one again after a five year hiatus and am having to re-read the FAQ on several things again. For example, I'm manually checking the disk now because JEmplode was seeming to die while synching and had to look up the commands to do so.
