I should have learned by now to avoid posting pictures here, only to discover how amateurish and poorly done they are, and how much better they would be if taken with a DSLR. smile

However, I did not take the attached picture, so your slings and arrows will fall on deaf ears this time. [How's that for a mixed metaphor!]

This picture was a snapshot, taken by a fellow kayaker who has shown no noticeable photographic talent in the past. The camera is a $175 point-and-shoot, no viewfinder, 4x zoom, set on full automatic. No tweaking of any kind was done on the shot after it was taken.

All in all, not too bad a photo.

That is awesome and looks nice and relaxing.

I ran into a friend who retired from where I work back in December. His description of retirement was 'Everyday is Saturday, every night is Friday night', which made me jealous.

Seeing that picture made me even more jealous.

Clearly he is not into full retirement mode yet. Saturday? Friday? Half the time I don't even know (or care) what month it is, let alone the day of the week! smile

"By an equally suspicious freak of temporal relastatics, it is nearly always Saturday afternoon just before the beach bars close."

By a suspicious freak of spatio-temporal relastatics, Ursa Minor Beta seems to be suffering from a nasty case of 1970s British licensing laws. Why the zarking zark would a beach bar close on a Saturday afternoon?
