I ended up checking in, frustrated with the state of playing MP3s on my PC or phone. I was out looking for a Rio Central out of desperation and ended up here... I've tried setting up various PC-based media players, but never have been satisfied with the results. Sadly, none level up to the satisfaction of the 'ole empeg. Even the marvel of a 128G SD in my phone leaves me wanting when the darn phone OS can't prioritize audio playback over other processes running causing a skip during playback. Grrr.

Anyways, just wanted to hop in and say howdy to all the old timers still hanging around. I guess some day I should corral all my Rio gear and offer it up here to those still hording. :-)

Hi, have you ever tried Squeezebox? Still plenty of secondhand ones on eBay, I still think they're great. You can link to Spotify as well.
