Ever want to use an off-the-shelf SATA SSD with the empeg? Or even TWO of them?

128GB SATA SSDs are under $20 these days on Amazon. Just saying..

That would be awesome! I have several 128GB SSD's laying around not doing anything. All I need is to find a working Empeg. It seems like a lot of people have given up on one of the greatest players around!

Can anyone confirm that this is likely to work? I powered up my Empeg for the first time in a while a few days ago, and the drive is all clicks and clacks and "Contact support". So I'm looking to maybe replace it ... and I'm cheap.

The only way to know, is to get one and try it. The Asian manufacturers constantly change the chips on their products without changing the model names/numbers. Back in 2024, we found one specific version that worked then.
