Even though the RioCar is EOL. I can still wish, can't I?

I drove a company minivan today that had a sound system feature I hadn't seen before. When you park the car and remove the key, the radio keeps playing till the driver opens the door.

I suspect this is really some gimickery in the wiring of the car. Where the ignition sense is kept hot, and not a head unit feature. But it is a neat idea.

That's a feature of the car, not a feature of the radio.

If you installed an Empeg into that minivan, it would behave that way. (Assuming you properly connected the empeg's power wires to the factory harness.)

I'm sure something like that could be rigged for any car, but again, the empeg's circuitry would have nothing to do with it. The wiring tricks would all be external to the empeg.

VWs do this slightly - the radio stays on (or the empeg in my case) after turning the ignition all the way off - it only switches off when the key is actually pulled.
