Sorry but after refreshing all day long I needed to post something, just to make my BBS day more "interactive". So, when when when? Waiting waiting waiting... Taym

Sorry, I shouldn't have posted the spoiler. It's typical that the bugs which were found can only be fixed by people who are all overseas (in fact there are only four people left at empeg this week).
We'll fix them as soon as we can (the bugs that is).

Of course, you are aware of the double meaning that has in the US??? Still, fitting punishment for buggy software. There are a number of vendors I am dealing with right now that should be "fixed" as well...

Now, I *know* you guys are alright.
Back in the bad old days at Metrowerks we weren't allowed to see the wives until we shipped the Gold Master of CodeWarrior. Much less leave the country ;-) That is unless Berardino Baratta was chasing you.
I remember one time after a particularly long month of 20 hour days he mentioned that we were slipping back the release date to the following week. I was too busy rolling on the floor having a coniption fit, so one of my buddies said "Hey Ber, uh ... we all had plans for Labor Day weekend, seeing family and all?" Ber thought a minute and said, "Tell you what, you work Labor Day weekend, and I'll give you the following weekend off."
(Irony is we ended up working every weekend for the next month anyway.)

>>the bugs which were found can only be fixed by people who are all overseas
So if I might extrapolate.. There is currently noone working on the Empeg software or at least specifically these bugs? This is where I suspect SonicBlue is impacting Empeg Car development. The Replay product is probably getting a lot of attention from all corners of SonicBlue.
Sigh, I suppose 2.0 will be a nice Xmas surprise. Hopefully Xmas 2001.
Frustrated,
-Hoagy.

You're extrapolating in the wrong direction.
One of the major showstoppers in the 2.0 beta 1 is a windows issue. Both the people who have installshield experience are in the US - and so we can't really release until they're back. We are going to *try very hard* to get the release out next monday, but do remember that everyone will be very jetlagged...
There are people working on the empeg-car software in Cambridge whilst many are in the US this week (inc me), just that in any small company some critical paths will always exist.
No conspiracy theories!

Greetings!
I don't know... I would rather have it a day or two later than to worry about new "features" creeping in based on jet lag!
