Announcing, .v7. of my Empeg VolAdj kernels with bonus "BreakOut" game.
Pre-built kernels (mk2 and mk1) and simple instructions are now available on my Website:

The game is playable through the front panel controls, or using either version of remote control (Kenwood or RIO).

Richard Lovejoy's incredible automatic VolAdjust hack is also included, and can be turned on/off via the front panel controls. The on/off setting is also now presevered over (most) power cycles, and a single setting now applies globally to both home and car operation.

Get it while it's hot.

Eventually, the empeg guys are going to be adding useful functionality to the press-and-hold on the knob, so you might want to consider how you're going to handle that situation in the code when that time comes.

I'll deal with conflicts of future Official updates when [if ever] there are any. At the present rate (once a year, or less), that oughtn't be much of an issue. Most likely I'll just use a longer hold-button time, or possibly another "chord" (simultaneous button-presses) combination.

Just installed the voladj and love the game, but I'm still a little confused about enabling and disabling the voladj part... Do I press the down arrow button and then the left or right buttons on the front panel? Doesn't seem to do anything... Can someone describe this for me?

Button instructions have been improved on my web site, but basically:

To ENABLE voladj, press/hold DOWN, push/release RIGHT, release DOWN.
To DISABLE voladj, press/hold DOWN, push/release LEFT, relase DOWN.

I've just rev'd the game up to .v8., which now has:

PAUSE button (can be used to cheat, as well)
longer/slower "reward" sequence
slightly easier gameplay

Ooops. versions v8 and v9 both have a subtle bug whereby the Game takes over the buttons after about 13 minutes of operation.. inhibiting their regular functions. This is now fixed in v10, in the usual place.
